It covers Rabbits, Cavies' (guinea pigs), Ferrets & rodents.the info is somewhat technical, but understandable. It covers basic vet care, diagnosis, nutritional problems, surgical procedures, anesthesia, antibiotics, therapies....As a 4-H leader, I am happy to have found this book, it will be a useful reference for my youth.even after raising/teaching about these critters for 30 + years, It is hard for me to remember all the info. on the multiple species, without a reference. I wish there had been more photos, and that they were in color.
Extremely useful and an easy read. Highly recommend if you care for rodents for any length of time.
I am moving more towards electronic reference materials as a vet as I can pull them up easily on my kindle account on my office computer. I have been very pleased with this book and it is easy to read as well as straight forward with information to pass on to owners. ALso pleased with the pictures and graphics.

My go to book for ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs. Great surgical section on each too. Also a nice formulary in the back.
Great reference for those of us who don't see these pets regularly in practice.
This book is helpful with my hedgehogs. It is hard to find a vet that is knowledgeable with hedgehog care. I have a farm vet that is willing to see our hedgehogs for our USDA license. He finds this book helpful also.
An excellent reference with valuable photo documentation of conditions and procedures. I know of no other text that even approaches it in depth and detail of this often over-looked category of pets.
