I like the book because first of all it’s thin, light, easy to read and very well organized. But I wouldnt recommend buying this if this is the only book you’ll be using to study and you arent familiar with math ... like myself. I am using this book as a reference n for the practice test while watching online video lessons as well.

Although this book is helpful, there are minor errors and deleted info on certain pages. Several times I had to You Tube an explanation for a certain equation or function to get the correct answer because something was missing on the book(page 13 just gives the answer to problem 4 without giving the actual problem first).A few graphs (ie. page 62) were slightly off number( for evey X value you move down 3...the left side of the reflected line was slightly off). Still a good study tool.

I think this product is very helpful. The materials helped me meet my goals; however, I would like to know if I got the answers right on the study guide. It doesn’t provide it on here. I also like to solve more work problems. It was good overall.

Good buy

I like the book because it teaches you about each subject at the beginning and then followed by test questions and answers. However, one thing that can be improved is the amount of test questions. I feel there should be more questions and by category. And then at the end, you can mix it up again. Otherwise, I like the book.

I would like to see more practice problems and possibly more explanation for radicals and functions. Overall the book was helpful with refreshing my understanding of algebra.

The book was helpful in condensing the material into bit size chunks of easy to learn information. I would put common formulas in BOLD to stress the importance.

All of these photos are by Robert Cameron and all of them are gorgeous. These postcards have a matte finish so the photos don't look quite as spectacular as they could, but these are still lovely postcards. There are images that you'd expect, such as the Golden Gate Bridge from the air (which doesn't detract from a great image). And some were a surprise. I liked the one showing the Academy of Science's green roof. I've been to this museum in Golden Gate Park many times, and that includes the viewing platform you can access for the "living" roof. But to see it like this postcard from the air is a treat.Each postcard is 6 ¾" x 4 ¾". The cardstock is a little thicker than usual. I'm going to play it safe and use full first-pounce postage on these cards.The cards arrive gummed in a stack. I found that they can be removed out of of order, from the middle of the stack, if I'm careful. The exception is the last postcard, which is for some reason glued in. You have to tear off part of the message side to remove it. It's still useable, but odd.A nice set published by Cameron.Happy Reader

I was really excited about ordering this set of cards. Unfortunately when I received my purchase, I realized that I'm not going to keep it. Though the composition and technical quality of some of the photos leave a lot to be desired, the main problem is that the publisher really screwed up preparing the images for printing - the prints turned out too dark and grainy. The only good thing worth mentioning is the paper quality - it's really heavy weight carton, silky and matte, perfect for writing on and mailing without envelope.

I enjoyed this book by Sigmund Brower. He really knows how to catch the reader's attention with short chapters that persuade you to read "just one more".All Star Pride was very interesting especially because it takes place in Russia, where Hog Burnell's hockey team is playing. There's illegal Russian things that Hog gets tied up in, there's a lot of hockey lingo and of course... mysteriousness. It's really written for boys, but hey, can't a teen girl read it too?

ALL-STAR PRIDE is about a guy named Hog Burnell. He is a part of the WHL (Western Hockey League), which is a step below the NHL (National Hockey League). He is going to play on the all-star team against Russia. They even get to travel to Russia for the games!They are going to have a seven-game series, and the first team who wins four games wins the series. Hog does not realize, though, that hockey isn't the only thing they'll be doing. There is plenty of more money to be made in Russia.Soon Hog finds himself on the borderline of what is right and wrong: do I join in the schemes to make more money while in Russia?ALL-STAR PRIDE is a thrilling story that will pull you in and not let you out until the book is over. Something else surprising is that there is a great deal of danger even to the 'dead'.Neal Shusterman has written an engaging story full of twists and turns to keep the reader on their toes. This is not simply a YA novel, adults can fall under it's spell just as easily and teens. The story doesn't end on a cliffhanger but I can't imagine not wanting to dive right into the next book in the series.

Nick and Allie died. They don't realize it at first but they are dead. And they haven't got where they were going. They are stuck in Everlost. An in between death. But they aren't alone. Thousands of kids have gotten stuck in Everlost and either sunk to the middle of the Earth or are knit together in groups trying to protect themselves from the true monster of the in between. They try to get home to see their parents but realize that if you aren't in a dead spot you might sink to the middle like hundreds of other kids. Can they get home in a world of quicksand? Can they get themselves out of the pickle they have gotten themselves in? Can they get where they are going? They don't have much to lose. They are already dead.I gave this a three out of five stars on Goodreads. I love Neal Shustermans writing. And I liked the story. I thought the world could have been a bit more developer. I also didn't really connect with the characters. I love his dystopian series "unwind" and I'm hoping the second book turns out better than this first in this paranormal. I was a fun read. I enjoyed it.

Or maybe you could call the bibliophile the "Life After Death for Dummies" superstar author.The characters in this book really fell flat. For someone we spend the majority of the book with (Allie), we really don't get a good feel for her or really step into her character much - and the person who really seems to turn the book around (Nick), we see very little of and don't know him much by the time the book ends. The one character I feel we connected most with, that had the most real emotions coming through were Mary and Vari. We got to see more of their personality instead of being told what it was.The villain in the book seemed... for lack of a better term, nonthreatening. Ugly, very much so. Rude. UH-HUH. Evil?? Nope.It was an easy read, the story moved along, but at times, it really didn't feel like we were doing much. It almost seemed like scenes were put in there just to fill the time. The plot isn't deep, the ending is pretty predictable, and there isn't much to the suspense. I know this is labeled for a younger reader, but I still believe that this could have had a few subplots woven in for the enjoyment of older readers, especially given Shusterman's fan base.One thing that really and truly upset me were the amount of errors found in the book. This is a book put out by one of the biggest publishing houses out there. There is no reason to have as many errors as there are in this book. Self-published authors get slammed on a daily basis because of their lack of editing, and the big houses are putting out books that are entertaining, yes - but also riddled with blatant errors. There were instances of two characters speaking in the same paragraph, commas missing from the end of dialogue, "id" being used instead of "is" and the list goes on.I feel that, especially in a book that is aimed at younger readers, our goal is to show them how English SHOULD be written, not by throwing a popular author's book out there full of errors because the publishing house knows it will sell.I'm giving this book a three-star rating because the storyline was interesting, I was able to finish it, and I wasn't bored to death. However, I will say that I am getting increasingly more angry at the large publishing houses for their lax editing and formatting on their eBooks.As a whole, I am not interested enough in the series to pick up book two. I will, however, be reading book two of his Unwind series (which I thought was brilliant). Everlost is the second book of Shusterman's that I have read, and while I'm not thrilled with it, I haven't given up on him as an author. I want to see what else he has in store for me in his other books. :)

I am 50 years old and recently got a Kindle for my birthday. My 11 year old daughter was reading Everlost at the time, that she checked out from the library. She was so excited by this book and wanted to share every detail with me, but at the same time she wanted me to read it for myself. I am so glad she did! I was absorbed into this story from the beginning. It is written with such detail that you can picture everything the author wants you to "see" in your mind, like it or not. The characters are interesting, well rounded and unique. As soon as I finished Everlost, I jumped right into Everwild, which I love! I am anxiously awaiting Everwind. I can totally see this series of books translate into amazing movies if the characters are handled with the same care that is done in the books. Neal Shusterman is now one of my favorite authors. You will not be disappointed by these books!

My 11-year old daughter loved this series. She couldn't put it down and flew through the books. The plot, from what she tells me, is fairly dark and there is some tragedy throughout but she loved it.

After really enjoying Neal Shusterman's Unwind I decided to try out this book. I'm very glad I did too because its one of the most fun books I've read in a long time. Everlost is grand adventure with many fun twist and turns around every corner. In this sense it reminds me very much of some of the fun stories I used to hear in fairy tales as a kid. Its also very impressive how the author ties up all the loose ends at the end of the book. Every little detail you read about in the beginning comes back around in the end of the book and its really quite amazing, you'll have a hard time putting it down. I would easily recommend this book to anyone. I believe no matter who old or young you are you will enjoy this story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Light, breezy, perfect for bedtime reading when you want to escape your own reality (for someone else's truly bizarre reality) for a few minutes. Reading about the insane escapades of others left me feeling a bit smug about my own sanity (assuming I'm not delusional). Dr. Waymack has a keen eye for the ridiculous and a self-deprecating sense of humor. Great gift for a med student, doctor, or other medical professional--or for anyone needing a good laugh. I plan to buy several more copies.I am coming back a few days later to update my review, because I keep thinking about this book. Because it is highly entertaining, I raced through it. However, there is more to it than initially meets the eye, especially in Waymack's insights into military medicine, medicine in Russia, and the Cold War. It's not just a collection of funny stories (although they are hilarious). It's almost as if there is another book lurking underneath the anecdotes, one that delves more deeply into the politics and bureaucracy of medicine. I'm not changing my recommendation from four to five stars, because that book isn't here yet--I am hoping that Waymack goes back to expand on the potentially profound thoughts and insights to which he casually introduces his reader.

Beautifully written and supremely amusing, the laughter that you will experience while reading this book might send you to the ER. You will learn about such episodes as the waiting-room equivalent of the Hatfield/McCoy 100 Years War, and the skills and libidos of Soviet proctologists. Run, don't walk, to your computer/tablet/smartphone/bookstore and order this book. You will love it, as will your loved ones to whom you give it.

Well, it seemed like a good idea to read this book... and it was!Vivid prose with lots of humor and quirks that call to mind James Herriot's veterinarian experiences in Britain as chronicled in "All Creatures Great and Small." In this case, swap the animals for patients, and the Vet for a young physician and his experiences coping in some of the most unusual circumstances.Since it's essentially a series of short stories, you can read it a little at a time or devour it, as I did, in one entertaining evening.

I downloaded the Kindle edition this morning and have spent some time looking over the stories. I'm excited to read the whole thing. This looks like a fun and interesting read for anyone, with or without a medical background. I'm really looking forward to giving a copy to my son, who is pursuing trauma medicine, for Christmas. I'll update my review once I have read the whole thing.

I found this e-book to be interesting and some of the stories were so funny that I had to laugh out loud. Some of the funniest stories were related to doctors and chief residents punishing staff by giving them orders that were sort of correct, i.e., the story a cure for insomnia. I really enjoyed the whirlpool bath story, the moral of the story was to listen carefully when given instructions; nevertheless, the patient enjoyed the incorrect therapy. I think most readers will enjoy some of the stories told by this doctor that covers his career including training.

Full of outrageous and hilarious situations, Dr. Waymack describes a doctor's life and (mis)adventures in light and amusing prose. I don't know if reading this will make you less inclined to trust your doctor's diagnoses and advice, but it will certainly make you better appreciate the human side of the medical establishment.

This writer has a good way of describing medical procedures in understandable laymen terms with compassion and some self-deprecating hilarity. I was especially interested in the section about working with the Soviets in the 1980's. For me, it underscored how socialism impeded advances in the medical field. But, Dr. Waymack's diplomacy and quick thinking helped them to save many lives and advance their techniques. His mandatory participation in several cultural/social events in the USSR were most entertaining, too.This book might not be too interesting to someone who is squeamish or disinterested in the field of medicine.

From the day he entered Med School until some 30+ years later, this Doctor/Surgeon welcomed each new experience as a n opportunity to learn as well as ti serve. This attitude I found really positive. Few people after a number of years working within their profession are able to continue service with that attribute. The many humorous incidents along the way not only made me chuckle but also became a sharp reminder that all of us humans can make some really dumb choices when logic might well serve us better.
