My suggestion is to keep a notebook to refer to tips you find important for later on. This book is full of details that would get lost in the mix of all it delivers. There are "suggested reads" which are a must to understand each section. To clarify, this book is separated into segments of 1) a little history of comic/graphic novels, 2) technical tools, 3) art books to help refine your skills (which I suggest using a sketchbook with) and then 4) computer use with tablets and more. This book has helped me greatly to see comics/graphic novels are way more than the stereotypical ideology most have about them. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is just starting out or who wants a new perspective.

This is a great book, but there is very little real guidance on the writing part. It probably should be called "Illustrating the Graphic Novel with Writing Tips" or something. But the content that is there is definitely worth while and the illustrations are great.

I'm going to keep this simple, the book is awesome. Buy it.If your looking at this book, your probably into graphic novels and want to know about the inner workings and what exactly it takes to jump in and get realized. I bought this book as a gift for a friend expecting twins this spring. I looked through it and think it will be a great resource. It’s easy to read and has great tips and tricks for twin moms and dads. I don’t have twins but have two babies close in age and found some good ideas for me as well!

A wonderful resource for expectant mothers of twins. It’s a fun read and makes the big issues weighing on your mind seem less daunting (sleep training twins, anyone?!). I also appreciate that the authors emphasize the importance of putting your relationship at the center of the equation when it comes to tackling life as parents of twins. My husband and I are going to be welcoming our babies any week now and undoubtedly life will turn upside down, but as the book stresses, it’s critical to pause, appreciate each other, and parent as partners through all the ups, downs and U-turns.

A few years ago, only a handful of Americans appreciated Italian cookies beyond the familiar amaretti. An explosion of interest in Italian cooking has changed all that, and biscotti and pizelles now appear in restaurants and bakeries from coast to coast. Sanchez, bakery owner from Waterbury, Connecticut, has built a business based on production of Italian cookies, and she now shares her recipes. Some Italian cookies, such as nut-studded biscotti, require special techniques, being twice baked (the literal meaning of biscotto). Others, including bar and drop cookies, more directly recall typical American cookies. I should have looked at the reviews, because the top review is right--there are no pictures which makes it hard to know what you want to make and at the same time this feels like a beginner's cook book. There is no mention of the add ins you can add to the chocolate clove cookies, and the peach cookies use peach jello powder as a coating. I'm not unhappy since it's pretty much what it says it is, but I'm fairly disgruntled at getting the equivalent of a spiral bound church cookbook in a pretty cover.

This cookbook does not have photos or illustrations in the recipes. Thus it is hard figure out what the cookies are supposed to like when you make yourself. The recipes are simple, too simple for me. The book does not contain traditional wedding cookies. I compared the sweet Taralle to those on the web. The recipe for Taralle in this book omits cooking them in hot water for a short, which is part of almost every Taralle recipe on the web. This leaves me wondering if I will be wasting 1/2 dozen eggs, sugar, vegetable oil on this book's recipe.On a positive note, the stories are charming. But I did not buy this baking book for the stories about the author's reminesces about her childhood.I was so excited when I ordered this book, now I am really annoyed that I ordered. I may return it depending on the hassle of the return procedures.

I read from beginning to end without scanning for pictures. I expected bright colorful cookies of all kinds. By starting from the beginning I realized this was the real deal. Tidbits of information, tips, family traditions, To me , very useful. But I do miss the pictures!

I would have liked to see either photos or illustrations (drawn if nothing else) for each cookie. But that would probably increase the cost of the book, so I can make do this way.The book has some stories to go with the recipe, which I love, because food and life are intertwined so closely you can't really separate them. It was nice to see a peak of the author's memories as she tells about each recipes.The directions are easy and clear. Ingredients are found at home or easily located in local stores. Nothing exotic to hunt for. Delicious cookies too. Very nicely formatted and presented.I bought this book and also one specifically for Biscotti. I am very happy with BOTH books.

Recipes. The ingredients are simple enough to get and the recipes are simple enough for a beginner. I expected more and there were no pictures.

Bought this as a gift for my parents. And then I stole it back because I loved it so much. Over Christmas, I made pizzelles and almond macarons from the book; both came out great!

I found 204 Rosewood Lane to be an improvement from the first book in this series, "16 Lighthouse Road." The characters seemed more realistic and there was more emotion as readers have come to expect from Mrs. Macomber's books. The plot thickened and became more interesting and I was impressed with certain aspects of the writing. During the first book I was hoping it would get better the entire time I was reading it, and during the course of this book, I felt it did.Although there seem to be certain commonalities with most Debbie Macomber books, I was glad that she strayed from the normal formula for some of the characters in this book. I am always more intrigued by the characters that seem like they may have a secret or a darker side than the ones that are all just sugar and pie from the very beginning. Over all I liked this book. It wasn't the best title I have ever read by this author, but it was an improvement to the series and made me curious about what comes next.

I've wanted to read a book by this author for quite some time, there are always glowing reviews and the covers are so inviting. Since this was such a reasonable price I jumped at the opportunity.The plot was okay if one wants to read about pregnancies ( most unwed ), divorce, bickering unhappy couples. I did not. There were several main relationship plots running throughout the book, and also possible murder/death mystery. Only one of the relationships were resolved. Which leaves a lot of loose ends, including the unsolved death.Who ends a book that way?!Furthermore it's just not written well.Played well on Text-To-Speech

So many stories all at once and all sad.I do know that into each life some sadness must fall.This story focuses on Families falling apart, Couples breaking up, Misunderstandings,Past failures that effect them forever. the most cheerful thing is the discovery of a suicide after a year of being missing.Vietnam Vet that never got the help he needed in dealing with killing a mother and child and then the village they lived in.Returned home to live in 'darkness' that hurt his family till he just disappeared one day., within just a few months his wife filed for and received a divorce.Even new grand children or successful cancer treatments did not cheer this group up Of course the Babies were preemies and the rush to the hospital took him over 2 hours. maybe he stopped to see his ex on the way.I have enjoyed her novels before but will not continue this series. OF course not a one of the many different families tales was finished in this part of the series... must get the next for that, or maybe not even then. . . .

204 Rosewood Lane....I discovered too late that this book was just one in a series of stories about this town and the certain chosen families in it. D. Macomber has a good way of making up characters and placing them together in unique situations. I like that. Her writing is good. But you know what....I like for a good finish that settles things in the stories told about these people. The ending of this book left the reader hanging. Maybe that is the ploy to get the reader to go immediately and buy the next book to keep up with things. But for me, even if it is a series, the reader deserves to be satisfied with conclusions of one type or another. It is unsettling to see there are no more pages and the reader is left wondering what just happened. I'm cut off. If you write a book...finish it enough to be like the end of a good meal, full and satisfied. Don't think I'll get the next book...it may end the same way, with things left up in the air. I loved the closeness of the families in Cedar Cove. The way Debbie Macomber connected their stories, and brought the characters to life is a true gift. I did not like the way the story ended because there were loose ends. I believe the loose ends were on purpose to get us involved with the people of Cedar Cove and read on...

3.5 Stars, cliff-hanger. Stand-alone that is easy to follow. Unfortunately there are several relationships dangling and unanswered questions.Believable characters and dialogue.No desire to re-read this story. I am always interested in works by this author.

This story has wonderful characters, all with different stories. Each situation is unique, but the characters and their stories blend nicely together, making for a wonderful small town feeling. I'm hoping there is another book following this one, however; since quite a few of the character's stories are left without closure. It left me wondering what happened in the end between Jon and Maryellen. And what of the guy who turned up at the bed and breakfast? I just wanted more, so hopefully there is a following book.

I love her books! I've read ten of her books since May of 2018. As I type, it's October of 2018. Her writing is absolutely excellent! I'll read her books as long as she keeps writing. She has a fabulous talent of drawing in the reader from one book to the other. I love Cedar Cove!! Thank you Debbie Macomber!!

This is one in a series about the fictional town of Cedar Cove. It was about people who have appeared in the other books of the series and the plot was good. It deals with the many problems of these characters. I was disappointed somewhat as I was expecting this to be a Christian perspective of God helping the different people with their problems. I had read another of Debbie's book which did do that. This book gave only a worldly view.
