I really didnâ€™t know what to expect when I ordered Undisputed Street Fighter Deluxe Edition. The previews I saw only showed pages that focussed on individual characters and the fighter profiles are a significant part of the book. Udon already produced its World Warrior Encyclopedia but that one just collated information from game cutscenes and endings. The profiles here are more of a behind the scenes look at character development. Rather than competing with each other they complement each other. The major characters get six pages of info but lesser characters might just get one. For shear volume of information you could just peruse WIkipedia but at the end of my review Iâ€™ll get into what sets Undisputed apart from the rest. Let me also add that this book is FAR more than just character profiles.The book is well structured. I love the way it starts off by returning to the early 90â€™s and discusses the arcade scene and the stars of the Street Fighter tournaments. I was an arcade gamer during this era but this was before the internet so the only thing I knew was the existence of the Street Fighter games at my local arcades. This book fills in the world of Street Fighter outside of the very limited scope of vision I had at the time. Over the years Iâ€™ve become much more knowledgeable of Street Fighter but I had no idea who the major players were in the Street Fighter tournament universe. I didnâ€™t know that the first Street Fighter machines were intended to have a single huge attack button where the strength of attack would depend on how hard you pounded it. I was unaware that the U.S. machines had different artwork than the overseas machines because it was felt that American gamers would reject the anime look (my, how times have changed).What really sets this book apart is how much research is done on the people involved with Street Fighter. Whether itâ€™s interviewing players, creators or collectors you get a perspective from those who loved the game most. Letâ€™s be honest. You canâ€™t have a 30th anniversary celebration unless some of those involved from the beginning are starting to get on in age. As time goes on we will begin losing some of those creators which makes a book like this important from a historical standpoint in order to preserve these views. I may be a big geek but I also found it fascinating to read an article on a guy who creates custom made Lego minifigs of Street Fighter characters or one on the collecting of original Street Fighter artwork. There are tons of little articles on all things Street Fighter related including one just devoted to the development of the animation behind the Haddoken. I love it.Steve Henderson is clearly a Street Fighter fan but he doesnâ€™t come off as a fawning fanboy. He admits that Street Fighter: The Movie was pretty bad and said that the three comic issues produced by Malibu were two comics too many. On the other hand, he talks quite a bit about Street Fighter: Generations without mentioning that it was tragically awful. I was surprised to learn that it was Udon comics (which I love) which had approached Capcom about getting the Street Fighter license. I always assumed that Capcom had commissioned Udon to produce the comics. In fact, after Street Fighter III Capcom had pretty much given up on Street Fighter until they were convinced to revive it in 2008. I will admit that Capcom is currently on my S**t-list with their Playstation exclusivity on SF IV and V. I only got to play IV because it was released on the Nintendo 3DS but Iâ€™ve never even touched SF V. I understand there are extenuating financial reasons but this Faustian bargain was a terrible way to expand your fan base.All in all I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected. Do I think the Deluxe Edition is worth the MSRP of $99? No. Is it worth the $60 that Amazon is currently selling it? If youâ€™re a Street Fighter super fan with disposable income I might say yes. If youâ€™re just a fan I would suggest the paperback version which is less than half the cost. For an extra $35 you get a hard cover, a die cut slipcase, a ribbon bookmark (whoop de doo), three underwhelming art prints that arenâ€™t drawn in any Street Fighter style Iâ€™ve ever seen and a folded model that looks like a tiny arcade machine except itâ€™s completely different from any actual Street Fighter arcade machine. I donâ€™t regret springing for the deluxe version but I tend to collect books as well as read them. I would recommend any real Street Fighter fan pick up one of the books, depending on your budget, because they are super entertaining and filled with tons of fascinating info.

This is a hard review to write for a single reason. I'll get right to it. The book, for all of the research and love that was put into it rewrites history. Specifically Evolution 2004. Evo 2004 Moment 37. Anyone who's a fan of Street Fighter or the FGC would know this as the pinnacle of tournament moments and excitement in Street Fighter history. And it gets it wrong. It's probably just a typo, but in telling the tale, it reverses Justin Wong and his Chun Li and Daigo Uemehara with Ken. According to this book, Daigo used Chun parrying Justin's Ken. Now I suppose this could be overlooked and the rest of the books seems to be well thought out and researched. Pics of the past, etc. are truly a labor of love. But it gets the most incredible moment of tournament play completely wrong. I think that alone will cost it a star and I hope this can be fixed in future printings as well as the Kindle versions.The Deluxe edition is interesting as far as a package for a SF fan. Hardcover, and the hard sleeve looks like US SF2 machine. There little paper craft is also a SF machine...that doesn't look like the old SF machine which was a missed opportunity. The art prints are hit and miss, but your mileage will vary. All in all, the book is great but that one error....

This book is insane! it features so much content that will blow your mind! things like the SF History, Franchise, Story, Elements, People Behind the Scenes, documentary, References, Immortalization of it's Legend and what not! vast information on ALL of it's Fighters & Characters, Designs, Art, Art Direction and more! a must have for all die hard Street Fighter Fans! Also: The Deluxe Edition features a really amazing Arcade-Themed slipcase which will made you a real nostalgic feeling! and it's extra lithographs are a nice adding!

As a lifelong fan of Street Fighter since II, let me tell you this is worth it. Especially with the discount here on Amazon. Get it while you can. Even includes a cardboard cutout of an arcade cabinet for a fun DIY project!

This was a gift for my boyfriend and he was very impressed by it. The print is beautiful and the construction of the book and protective sleeve/case are high quality.

My son is an avid SF fan and he LOVED this. It came with 3 art plates that make great posters and depictions of SF characters and the book has a beautiful layout. Great buy and worth every penny.

Perfect! 5 years on one page, and it actually gives you more than one line per day. I like that it doesn't have cheesy prompts like some of them.

Love this book. I have to keep an alarm on my phone to remind me to actually write in it.. but it's great. I like the format and the physical feel of the pages and the book as a whole is great. I've seen some other "line a day" books that aren't as flexible and easy to write in as this one. I'm also a lefty, so comfort for south paws is always a rare find. Great purchase over all!

Purchased this for my wife as a way to reflect on the day and she loves it!Each page provides space for 5 years worth of notes, so you can see what you were thinking in past years.There's more than a single line for each entry, so you can write a small paragraph, rather than just a single short line.The cover is nice quality and should last for years of use without issue.Really happy with this purchase. Will certainly look to get another 5 years from now.

I bought this right before I had my first baby. I wanted to remember everything about these days when my kids are little. This journal is a perfect way of being able to do that without it becoming a chore. You just write a few lines about your day or something exciting that happened or some milestone your child experienced. It can be a little hard to hold open when youâ€™re writing, but thatâ€™s to be expected with a book with this many pages.

Really strong cover--which is nice if you're keeping it for all five years!--and ample space for writing on each page. The way it is set up, you can begin on any date (basically you just fill in the blanks after 20__ for the year so it was perfect for starting mid-year! Would recommend :)

I had a very eventful day today, and when I arrived home, this was one of my packages waiting for me. I had actually forgotten I'd ordered it, and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. This is a good sized journal, in my opinion. Not too big, not too small. It was thicker than I had imagined, but what's wonderful about this is that there is one page for every day of the year, from January 1 until December 31. I have never journaled before, but I am hoping that by only having to write a few lines at a time that I will be able to do it. Upon first glance, I love it so much that I have already purchased another to ship to a friend.

I have heard others talk about how they enjoy giving (or using) something similar. Probably my mistake for not realizing that this is extremely large...not something to even take with you.

Iâ€™m so excited!!!! This is exactly the journal Iâ€™ve been looking for. Most other one-line journals are very small. The size of this one is perfect! The cover is adorable and thereâ€™s the perfect amount of space for each day. I canâ€™t wait to fill this up with little memories!!

Exactly what we needed for our 8N ford tractor.My dad and i needed this to find out how the rear end was assembled, and it was extremely helpful! You may be able to find images and information online, but my dad is really constantly rebuilding these 8N & 9N fords, and he's not good with computers so this was great for him!

I am impressed with the amount of information in this manual. I bought a Ford 9N recently so I wanted to have a service manual. I grew up in the world of Chilton and Haynes manuals for cars, this manual is far superior to either of those. Great if you're a newbie to tractors like I am.

If you have an old Ford tractor and you don't have someone else do all you maintenance you need this. Save your self some grief of looking on the internet for answers to some of your maintenance questions(not that the answers are not out there) and have piece of mind that you have this at your disposal.

Bought 2 of these one to keep in shed to grab outside when I'm working on my 8n..the other copy by my bedside table for at night when I'm working on a problem..

Excellent maintenance resource for the 8N, 9N and 2N Ford tractors. I learned more in 5 minutes than I could have hoped to have learned from just experience. I highly recommend this manual for people from neophytes to experts!

This is a good purchase along with the instruction book. If you own one of these tractors you are going to get your hands dirty fixing stuff. You will need this book.

We also found out in that book that they were engaged, though we didnâ€™t learn of Matteoâ€™s reasoning until this book. During book 2, we learned that Gianna had run away while visiting Aria in New York and that both families were pissed and that Matteo would hunt her down. This book does go back and show several of those scenes from Gianna and Matteoâ€™s POVs. This was the first book in the series that had dual POV & I really liked that.Matteo was bound and determined to find Gianna and marry her, even though she had run away, been found with another man, lost her reputation as a virtuous woman and her value as a bride. Matteo thought that he could possibly work Gianna out of his system, but he found that to be false, as he kept only wanting her more. But he also couldnâ€™t trust Gianna not to run again and had to take preventative measures.Luca treated Gianna pretty bad, but he lost face as the boss and in his ability to control his area. He was also upset with Aria because she helped her sister and in doing so, betrayed him. This caused them tension and I also think thatâ€™s probably why Aria wasnâ€™t able to stick up for Gianna as much as we thought she probably would.This book could have been so much more. I was looking forward to reading Giannaâ€™s book, but this one just missed the mark for me. Gianna was strong enough willed to run away from the mafia in search of a life of her own and for the chance to find and marry for love. That was a great concept, but personally, I didnâ€™t feel like Matteo & Gianna had built a connection by the end of the book.There were several grammatical errors, and then there were also errors with word usage. For example, a capo in the Italian mafia is a captain, not a boss. The boss is called boss or the Don. Also, in Italian, itâ€™s famiglia because Spanish is familia. There were also some small & some big storyline inconsistencies. Some of the inconsistencies could have just been when the author forgot to write the in between/descriptive paragraphs or sentences.*Spoilers*I think it would have helped had Matteo told Gianna the real reason that he asked his dad to arrange their marriage. Gianna may have shown a little thankfulness & gratitude when she found out that Matteo saved her from a worse fate. Also, clear at 84-87%, Gianna was still debating about leaving Matteo & actually did take some steps to run away from him, even after she admitted to herself that she was in love with him. Seriously at that point, Matteo deserved someone who would fight for him as hard as he fought for her.

"I didn't even like Matteo, right? He was annoying and arrogant and never knew when to shut up."Omg, Matteo. I wanted to punch Gianna sometimes because Matteo was literally MAN PERFECTION and it took her forever to see it. Yeah, he was a killer, and cocky, and charismatic, but hot hot hot. I'm not even sure saying it three times does him justice; my favorite hero of the series yet.I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. I'd always felt like Reilly's books lacked a little emotion for me to truly connect with them, so I wasn't going into this one with much hope, but turns out, I really did enjoy it.Gianna hates the mafia world she was raised in; she wants out more than anything. And when Matteo has her father arrange their marriage - because he's wanted her since his brother married her sister in Bound by Honor - she knows she has to get away. Her sister Aria, helps her escape to Europe.Matteo is infatuated with Gianna. Always had been since he first saw her. Her temper and fire drew him in and he knew he had to have her. When she escapes their arranged marriage, he spends six months searching for her, until he finds her with no other than another man.Gianna pushed Matteo away literally the entire story. She won't admit her feelings - even to herself - until the last ten percent. I understand how some readers didn't like her, but I thought her and Matteo were the perfect pair. And the conflict of the story just made sense.And can I say HOT HOT HOT. I don't remember the other books in the series being this hot, but this one seemed to kick up the heat. It was almost one too many sex scenes.While Matteo's and Gianna's marriage is forged on sex, those moments they begin to truly connect and get to know each other were truly perfect.Perfect conflict, perfect hero, and a great plot. Definitely recommend to mafia romance lovers. YOU GOTTA MEET MATTEO."It had taken a long time but I realized I could feel free, be free, even when I was bound to Matteo."

This is a great Mafia series. It is the third in the series, so make sure to read Bound by Honor and Bound by Duty first. The main characters Gianna and Matteo are introduced in Bound by Honor. I instantly felt the connection between them and wanted to know how their story would play out.It actually plays like a game of cat and mouse. He wants her. She wants him. Their story involves twists and tangles which make you wonder if they will end up together. She doesn't want to admit she wants him. Her sister explains what love is to Gianna and their sister, Lily."Love is when you feel safe in someoneâ€™s arms, when heâ€™s the first thing you want to see in the morning, love is surrendering. You risk getting hurt but you donâ€™t care. You are willing to give someone the power to break your heart. Love means seeing someone at their worst and still seeing the good in them, love means someone is perfect for you despite their imperfections.â€Does Gianna feel these things for Matteo? It is a great read as she tries to figure it out. Thank you, Cora Reilly. I can't wait for more.There are some editing errors mostly in the beginning of the story. Although I know some people base ratings off such things, I did not. I think this story is worth the read and the author has great potential.

Great book. This is fun to read and has a nice lesson. As a reading specialist and English teacher, I wish the critics and book banners would go away. So what if it is not completely authentic. It's a fiction book not a history or cultural lesson. It makes me wonder what these people read to children because if everything has to be totally accurate, animals don't talk, and then there is Santa, the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny...get it?

In a nutshell: Tikki Tikki Tembo as retold by Arlene Mosel is a fabled Chinese fable about two little brothers. The oldest one is purportedly given a long impressive name meaning â€œThe Most Wonderful Thing in the Whole Wide Worldâ€ as he is to inherit his parentsâ€™ beloved possessions. His younger brother is considered some sort of back-up and is given a short name (Chang) which means â€œLittle or Nothingâ€ or Clueless Playmate or something. Wiki-the-source-of-all-truth-pedia, states that the book is controversial because it may be a Japanese story told about China and does not portray Chinese culture accurately. I plan to seek guidance from my Chinese family members on where this story lands on the offensiveness scale.So,the boys are monkeying around and Clueless Playmate falls into the well. Golden Boy runs to his mother and they get a ladder-wielding-tree-napping-old-man to save him named â€œOld Man With The Ladder.â€ He pumps the boyâ€™s leg like a water pump to revive him which must be some sort of olden time CPR.Of course the little boys are monkeying around in the bathtub AGAIN, I mean near the well, despite the close brush with death and this time Golden Boy falls into the well. His brother runs for help and after repeating John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt four or five times, almost passes out from exhaustion, leaving his evil mother childless. Fortunately, Old Man With The Ladder comes to his senses and rescues Golden Boy with the same water pump CPR procedure.And the story concludes that this is why Chinese families name their kids little, short names.Families can talk about: How would you feel if your name meant Little or Nothing? Do you know what your name means? Why is the mom so mean and dismissive of the younger brother? Why donâ€™t the little boys mind their mother? Do you mind your mother? How confident are you about that answer? What is your game plan if you fall into a well or deep water? What should you do? And if you see your brother fall in? Why do you think swimming lessons are important? Which is more fun to say: Tikki tikki tembo-no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo or John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt?

I remember this boom from childhood and loved it. The name of the little boy is oh so fun to say BUT as an adult the message of this book is horrifying. The mom is absent and neglectful of her younger son, the prized first son is left permenantly scared, and no one learns a lesson except to give the first favored son a short name...Iâ€™m sorry what?!? This book did not stand the test of time for me. But I would love to see it revised with a different ending. The illustrations are lovely and well tiki tiki tembo is super fun to say.

One of the most read books when I was a kid. Wanted to share it with my kids. This is a story about two brothers who care for each other. The youngest tries to get help for his big brother who has fallen in the well, but because of the older brotherâ€™s super long name he has difficulty expressing the emergency to adults to get help in time.

I read this as a child growing up, it was my favorite book. Of course like most people as you get older you throw away or get rid of things from your childhood and teenage days. When my niece started kindergarten I knew reading was going to be required and i wanted to share with her my favorite story from childhood, so i purchased this book to read to her and hope she will appreciate it as much as i did. Well needless to say she does share my appreciation or enjoyment of this book, but it matters not because i still enjoy this book as an adult.

When I was a child I loved this book so I knew I had to purchase it to read to my children. My daughter has memorized Tikki Tikki's full name and enjoys reciting it with me. This is a classic book! The moral of the story may be a little politically incorrect these days but I don't dwell on that part and if a parent wanted to, they can skip that last page. It's such a fun book to read.

My mom read this to me as a kid, and it was one of my favorites. As an adult Iâ€™m not sure how I feel about the cultural messages in the book, but itâ€™s definitely fun to read out loud and the illustrations are pleasing to look at

I ordered this for my boss's granddaughter because it kept coming up in conversation and how I could still remember the kid's whole name (but not his brother's short, simple name, I kept thinking it was Chris, believe it's Chang). The artwork is fun and the book is so absurd, but nostalgia.
