This book was sort of helpful in guiding my husband and I through the immigration process. I bought it as a step-by-step guide for the K-1 to AOS process. I only used it for the first part of the K-1 petition (i-129f). After that point, it really wasn't that helpful. I liked having the checklist, but you still have to check everything online to make sure it is still up-to-date (in many cases, it wasn't).I wouldn't recommend this book because you really don't need it. All of the information is available for free online. I liked having a physical book to leaf through, but the immigration process is too dynamic and changing to rely on a book. I wouldn't even bother with the newest version. Everything you need DIY immigrate is online. Save your money and put it toward your AOS fee.

I was interested in this book because I will marry a US citizen next year and I wanted to be informed about the different options to apply for residency. The book does a good job of informing the options for different scenarios: living in the US vs. living overseas, applying in the US vs. applying overseas, having a legal status vs. entered the US illegally, etc. Each chapter explains each of these cases, provides details about the forms, and gives instructions on how to complete them.On some of these instructions on how to complete forms, however, the author describes the answer to certain questions as "self-explanatory" when they are not necessarily that obvious. Also, some sections are the same in several chapters (and the reader will be indeed directed to a further chapter) but some of the instructions on how to complete the forms, the number of copies required, the color of the paper to use for each copy will be different in one chapter and another. As a word of advice, always check the USCIS website and get the latest forms and fees from them.On the positive side, the book contains tear out checklists at the end that come handy when putting all the paperwork together. On the downside, I wish the book would cover more extensively the case of persons already in the US. For example, if you have a J visa, or an OPT work permit, or a H1 visa, what are the rules for people in those cases? They only mention that while in the US and not having "overstayed" your visa for more than 180 days its ok to apply for an adjustment of status, but what are the legal implications? Does applying for a change of status cancels any other visas? Does employment has to be interrupted or cancelled? Is it mandatory to apply for the work permit while the paperwork of the green card is being reviewed in order to work, or if other visa is current can the applicant keep that until receiving the resolution of the application?As you can see, there are still many unsolved questions, but I guess for cases that are more general is an OK source of info.

**Update** If your application (for any citizenship/green card/fiance visa) has been accepted and you have not heard anything about 'the next step' within 90 days MAX, please make an infopass appointment via uscis.gov because mistakes can cause delays that can cost you valuable time. We didn't know about this possibility until almost a year from our application date and we were waiting needlessly due to computer input errors. The toll free number people know nothing and will just make you wait longer. Once the first appointment was attended, it was less than 3 months later that the fonal green card interview was scheduled. Please don't make this mistake!!!**** My husband is from Germany and we 'discovered' one day that he would be in trouble if he married me without a fiance visa and going through the right channels. We were panicked and we found this reference online. With all of the good reviews, we decided to buy it, and it helped us unbelievably! We were able not only to find a better way to go about it, but it provides checklists for the option you choose, explains all of the possible scenarios that you may be in and which route would be right for you, and all the step by step instructions on how to fill out every single form. Do go onto the uscis.gov website for updates addresses for shipping your forms and the current fee information, but rely completely on this book for everything else!! We couldn't have made it without it! It kept us sane in our time of confusion and worry!

Immigration lawyers extremely expensive and mostly unavailable for the vital information needed to do the visa process. very very few gaps of information which tend to be corrected in succeeding editions. these visas take up to 2 years to get but you really cant do it without this book as I can personally testify after recently completing the visa process. There is not another book out there which is as complete and understandable as this one

I think, it is very detailed guidance, with explanations how to fill out the forms, with analysis of typical real situations, and helpful advices. Before buying the book, I send my Petition for Fiancee visa using online service of a company (Immigration Direct). Compared to that service, this book is clearly advantageous. First, it is a huge difference in price, since the company charged me for about $300 only for that step; I guess for each further step (filling out the forms for status adjustment etc... ) they will be charging similarly. Second, this book contains much more details and explanations than the company service... The book is written in a simple language and very easy and enjoyable to read... I recommend it!

It if fantastic book! I read about short bio of the serial killers of the word. Some of the listings will have a long list of victims and some are simply unknown. When dealing with serial killers you never know what will come up, and in these short bios, I learned of all the homosexual and homophobic natures of some of the most depraved.

Excellent book, for the guys the most it! In this book I found the information of serial killers, which I was looking for, I learned a lot of interesting information about this topic. Recommended!

Well written and well organized.The topic is gruesomely fascinating, everything well and keeps you reading. Did not take long to finish it could not put it down.

This is by far the worst thing I've ever read. I don't know about other editions, but the kindle version is chock full of weird grammar mistakes and typos. The background on most killers range from a sentence or two to a paragraph and doesn't really give much useful information. I also have serious doubts as to the authenticity of some of the information contained within. Don't bother. It's not even worth the $3 I paid.

My review - -What a truly great serial killer encyclopedia. It covers so many serial killers. Some well known, others not so well known. There were a few I did not know. It not only covers the basics (number of victims, ages, method, status, etc.) but he provides background information, murders, arrests, trial and sentencing. Very complete info, including trivia as well! The book is well written and well researched. I have not found a Dan Steele book that I didn't like. They get better and better. If you like to read about serial killers, this is one for you!

It's awesome book. I enjoyed this book from Amazon, it is excellent to read.These pages are filled with countless serial killers. Each one is broken down into the simplest of details so that you can learn of the horrific crimes they committed to other people in this world. There is a fine line between sanity and insanity, and many of these serial killers would seem to be insane, but they are far from that. Sit back and examine the techniques with which some of the most depraved would use to kill their victims.

This book is filled with information about serial killers who destroyed the social life in their lifetime. I was astonished to see how furious they ware, the numbers are huge and the short notes explained why they follow this dark path. I am sorry for them altogether i am sorry for the numerous people killed on their hand. We all should be conscious and serious to avoid such kind people to keep our world at peace.

wonderful pictures - a typical coffee-table-book.If you know Argentina, you never know everything, it's too big and full of history.When you see the pictures of this wonderful big farmhouses from an history time, still existing and there are still a lot of farmer families living in farm houses like in this book - you start to dream.Very impressive pictures of nature and architecture, good eyes of the photographer , interesting to see.

How often do you read a coffee table book cover to cover? Fascinating. After finishing this book I wanted to know more about this aspect of Argentine life. I wonder if the Estancias are open to travelers? This book makes me want to hop on a plane and travel through the rural regions of Argentina visiting these wonderful places.As other reviewers have mentioned, the photographs are excellent. Very evocative. The text provides very useful background information about each Estancia and additional descriptions of many of the photos. My favorite photo is Jackie at San Miguel in 1966 astride a big black horse, looking back with that enigmatic smile. She is so obviously in mourning.The Great Estancias fueled my imagination and created the feeling of almost being there. The photos make it easy to imagine what it would be like to live in this world, another time and place far away. What more can we ask of a book?

This is an awesome book for anyone interested in photography, travel, landscape or architecture. Hard to find out of print book still holds up and has some breathtaking photography in it. It made me want to jump on a plane and visit far away places. A really outstanding book. It gives you a brief history of Argentina and then goes right into some incredible views of the landscape as well as some interior photographs showing some of the opulence and well as the general population. Thumbs way up.

A gorgeous collection of photographs taken on "estancias" across Argentina's many regions, from its near tropical north, through its flatlands so reminiscent of the American Midwest, to the rugged south with its Alpine highlands. Not only is this book graced by informative text, but it is simply a treasure to gaze at for hours.

I found this Rizzoli hard bound book a delight to read and look through. The pictures are of outside & inside views including landscapes & gardens. I never knew anything about Argentina before I bought this book. About 22 properties photographed. Text is clear, specific and inviting. Also have FAZENDAS - THE GREAT HOUSES & PLANTATIONS OF BRAZIL which is just as good. If you are a visual person and see a 1,000 things in a photograph, this book is for you. Certainly made me realise that not the great buildings are in Europe or USA.

Tomas de Elia great photographs capture not only the european architecture of the Argentine houses and gardens but also the romantic atmosphere of the pampas. The book is impeccably designed and lavishly illustrated and allow us to wander into a part of the Argentine private world closed off to all but the most adventurous.

Bought this for a class. It's online so I basically have to read the chapters and learn most of it myself. It is very detailed and very good. I have to say though, I do have an instructor that I can contact for help at any time.

i almost dont even need my class with this book. It is only the basics but it covers them well. I much prefer HTML5 to HTML4!

Granted I use this book for college courses but this book is also great for teaching yourself at home how to create web pg's w/o software.!

Textbooks always get priced way out of proportion to what other books cost. Sadly even my Cisco textbooks are cheaper than this (and they are quite a bit bigger...). Book subject matter and presentation is good.

My rating applies only to the Kindle edition. The book is a fantastic resource that I've been using since the 5th edition. I paid $200 for the Kindle Edition so I could access it when away from my office. There is a big problem. The equations are so tiny as to be unreadable. Even worse, the don't expand with the screen so there's really no way to access them. I am quite disappointed and plan to ask for a refund.

This book as a TON of data on just about everything you can imagine in electronics, computers and RF. But it is not an instruction book. You have to understand the basics (even more than that) before this is really useful. There are thousands of formulas and detailed specifics that would be handy for someone who is in design and fabrication of electronic equipment. For the average electronic enthusiast, this is overkill and you won't get much out of it except a headache and a lot of math.

I have a slightly earlier edition it is the first book I grab when I need to refresh my memory or answer that question that has my project team stumped. I bought the latest version for my summer intern - and he has been quite pleased with how much it has helped his 4th year electrical engineering studies. A good overall reference covering radio licensing to satellites, logic gates to protocols. Most thumbed reference book on my shelf.

This is the current edtion of a reference book that I have used very frequently since 1955. For the practicing rlectronic circuit designer, it is, in my opinion, the most useful of its kind.

This book is jamb packed with information, so much it makes your head spin. Good refererence when your in a jamb. Great use for design and EMI solutions.
